The VALUE COLLECTION 063091PS is a flat socket cap screw designed for fastening applications that require a flush or countersunk finish. The 82-degree flat head seats fully into a countersunk hole, leaving a smooth surface when properly installed. Drive engagement is via a 1/4-inch hex socket. The fastener is machined from 316 stainless steel, which provides strong resistance to corrosion and pitting in wet, chemical-exposed, or marine environments. Thread size is 5/16-18 UNC with an overall length of 5/8 inches. This screw is used by mechanical contractors, millwrights, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians working in corrosive or sanitary service conditions.
This flat socket cap screw is suited for structural and mechanical assemblies where a protruding fastener head is not acceptable. Typical applications include equipment panels, pump housings, valve bodies, brackets, and enclosures found in HVAC systems, plumbing installations, pool equipment, and general industrial service. The 316 stainless steel construction makes it particularly appropriate for saltwater, chemical-process, and food-service environments where 18-8 or carbon steel fasteners would corrode prematurely. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as a standard inch-series flat socket cap screw for use in any application requiring a 5/16-18 UNC countersunk fastener with a 1/4-inch hex socket drive.
Installation is performed with a 1/4-inch hex key or hex bit driver; ensure the driver is fully seated before applying torque to avoid cam-out and socket damage. Countersink the mating material to the correct 82-degree included angle so the head seats fully flush. In stainless steel assemblies, apply an anti-seize compound to the threads before installation to prevent galling. Always de-energize and isolate equipment before accessing fastened enclosures or panels in live electrical or mechanical systems.
