The VALUE COLLECTION 0406FSR is a 4-40 UNC thread cutting screw designed for creating threads in pre-drilled or punched holes in metal and other hard materials. The screw features a round head with a combination slotted and Phillips drive, accepting a No. 1 driver bit. Made from AISI 1016-1024 steel and finished with zinc plating for corrosion resistance, this fastener is suited for light-gauge sheet metal assembly, electrical enclosure work, HVAC equipment panels, and similar trade applications. The Type F point cuts a clean thread without requiring a pre-tapped hole, making it a time-saving choice for production and service work alike. Sold in a minimum quantity of 100 pieces per order.
This screw is appropriate for use in residential and light commercial applications where a self-threading fastener is needed to secure panels, brackets, or components to thin metal substrates. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and sheet metal workers commonly use this fastener when assembling or servicing equipment enclosures, junction boxes, and control panel covers. The combination slotted and Phillips drive adds versatility when only one driver type is available on the job.
Designed as a standard 4-40 UNC thread cutting fastener suitable for light-gauge metal panels, electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment covers, and similar assemblies requiring a self-threading screw in a pre-drilled or punched hole.
Thread cutting screws require a properly sized pilot hole in the mating material for correct thread formation and holding strength. Power down any electrical equipment and de-energize panels before installing or removing fasteners in live enclosures. Use a No. 1 Phillips or flat-blade screwdriver or bit; do not overtighten, as the 4-40 thread form is susceptible to strip-out in thin or soft material. Installation in electrical applications should follow applicable NEC requirements for enclosure integrity.
