The VALUE COLLECTION 02L14600 is a galvanized steel pipe nipple sized at 1-1/2 inches with a 60-inch length, manufactured to Schedule 40 wall thickness. Both ends are threaded to the 1-1/2-inch thread size, allowing direct connection to fittings, valves, couplings, and other threaded pipe components. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance suited to wet or exposed environments. At 22.67 pounds, this is a full-length nipple appropriate for runs requiring minimal field cutting. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this type of nipple in water supply, gas distribution, and general industrial piping systems where Schedule 40 carbon steel construction is specified.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, fire protection rough-in, HVAC hydronic systems, and general mechanical piping applications. It is used wherever a threaded, galvanized Schedule 40 steel connection is required between pipe sections or at equipment stub-outs. The 60-inch length makes it appropriate for long straight runs without a coupling, reducing potential leak points in the line. Plumbers and pipefitters familiar with NPT-threaded galvanized systems will find this nipple consistent with standard trade practice.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard trade component for Schedule 40 galvanized steel threaded piping systems using 1-1/2-inch NPT fittings, couplings, and valves.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters following applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements where gas service is involved. Shut off the water or gas supply and depressurize the line before threading or replacing any nipple. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten threaded connections; use a pipe wrench with a backup wrench on the adjacent fitting to avoid stressing downstream joints.
