The VALUE COLLECTION 0204ABPP is a size 2 pan head sheet metal screw designed for fastening thin metal, sheet stock, and light-gauge materials in trade and industrial applications. It features a Phillips drive with a Type AB point, which combines a tapered gimlet tip for easy starting without a pilot hole in most applications. The fastener is made from 1016/1024 grade steel with a zinc finish for corrosion resistance. The 0.25-inch length under head keeps this screw suited for shallow-depth connections where material thickness is limited. Sold in quantities of 100 per order.
This screw is commonly used in HVAC, electrical, and light sheet metal fabrication work. Typical applications include securing ductwork panels, junction box covers, electrical enclosures, and light-gauge sheet metal assemblies. The pan head profile distributes clamping load across the surface and sits flush to slightly raised, making it well suited for assemblies where a flat bearing surface is needed without countersinking. The Type AB point allows threading into pre-punched or self-starting holes in steel sheet.
Designed as a standard inch-series sheet metal screw for use in light-gauge steel, aluminum sheet, and similar thin-material fastening applications common in HVAC ductwork, electrical enclosures, and general sheet metal assembly.
Sheet metal screws of this size are typically installed by HVAC technicians, electricians, and sheet metal fabricators using a Number 1 Phillips bit with a power driver or hand screwdriver. Always de-energize electrical enclosures and shut down HVAC equipment before fastening or removing panel covers. Avoid over-driving, as the thin threads in sheet metal can strip if excessive torque is applied. Follow applicable codes including SMACNA duct construction standards for HVAC panel fastening applications.
