The VALUE COLLECTION 01664465 is a taper shank drill bit designed for general-purpose metal drilling in industrial and trade applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish, it features a 23/32-inch diameter, a 118-degree standard point angle, and a web-thinned tip for reduced thrust during entry. The 2MT (Morse Taper 2) shank seats directly into compatible drill presses and machine spindles without a separate chuck. Right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently throughout the cut. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians are the primary users of this style of bit.
This bit is suited for drilling ferrous and non-ferrous metals in shop and production environments. The 18-inch overall length and 12-inch flute length make it appropriate for deep-hole drilling operations where a standard jobber-length bit cannot reach. The regular spiral and general-purpose geometry handle a wide range of workpiece materials. It is a single-piece unit packaged individually.
Designed for use with drill presses, lathes, and milling machines equipped with a No. 2 Morse Taper (2MT) spindle or tailstock socket.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with machine tool operation. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or removing the taper shank. Clean both the shank and the spindle socket before insertion to ensure full taper contact and prevent runout. Use a proper drift and drift slot to safely eject the bit from the spindle — do not strike the bit directly.
