The VALUE COLLECTION 01242106 is a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit designed for metal fabrication, maintenance, and light industrial drilling applications. The bit measures 2.10 mm (0.0827 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 2.125 inches and a flute length of 1.1406 inches. It is ground from high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide coating that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting. The 118-degree standard point angle is suitable for drilling into mild steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The tapered web with web thinning reduces thrust requirements at entry, and the regular right-hand spiral flute promotes chip evacuation in through-hole drilling.
This bit is suited for trade and shop environments where small-diameter precision holes are required in steel and cast iron workpieces. Typical applications include HVAC sheet metal fabrication, electrical conduit work, plumbing bracket fabrication, and general mechanical assembly. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks without adapters, making the bit compatible with benchtop drill presses, handheld power drills, and magnetic-base drills commonly used on job sites. It falls within the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm drill size range and is sized for applications where metric hole sizing is specified by the drawing or fitting requirement.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose replacement jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting straight-shank bits in the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm size range. Primary workpiece materials listed by the manufacturer are steel and cast iron.
Installation and use of this drill bit should follow standard machining and jobsite safety practices applicable to the trade. Secure the workpiece before drilling and confirm the chuck is tightened fully before operating. When drilling metal, use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant to extend bit life and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if the point is chipped or the cutting edges show wear.
