The VALUE COLLECTION 01220151 is a 15/64 inch diameter jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and plastic. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers solid performance in standard shop and field applications. The 118-degree standard point angle is the conventional geometry for most materials, and the left-hand cutting direction makes this bit particularly useful for removing broken fasteners and reverse-drilling applications. A tapered web with web-thinned geometry reduces thrust at the point for cleaner starts. Licensed tradespeople and experienced machinists typically install or deploy this bit in hand drills, drill presses, and reversible power tools.
This drill bit suits residential and light commercial maintenance, mechanical repair, and fabrication work. The left-hand spiral flute is the defining application factor here: it is most commonly selected when a tech needs to back out a broken bolt, stud, or screw by drilling into it with a tool set to reverse. It can also be used as a conventional bit in any left-hand-capable drill. The 2-5/8 inch flute length and 3-7/8 inch overall length place it in the standard jobber range, compatible with most keyed and keyless drill chucks that accept a 15/64 inch straight shank.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill bit suitable for use in any reversible drill or drill press equipped with a chuck that accepts a 15/64 inch straight cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed by a machinist, maintenance technician, or electrician using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck. Ensure the drill is set to reverse before using this left-hand bit for fastener extraction, and confirm the chuck is fully tightened before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling through harder metals to extend bit life. Disconnect or de-energize any equipment being drilled into before beginning work, in accordance with applicable lockout/tagout procedures.
