The VALUE COLLECTION 01220045 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for left-hand cutting applications. It measures 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 1-7/8 inches and a flute length of 7/8 inch. The 118-degree standard point angle suits general-purpose drilling in steel and cast iron. The bright, uncoated finish leaves the base HSS material exposed, which is standard for general-purpose tooling where coating is not required. The straight cylindrical shank fits conventional drill chucks. This bit is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals who need a left-hand drill for removing broken fasteners or reverse-threading operations.
This drill bit is suited for light-duty drilling in ferrous materials including steel and cast iron. The left-hand cutting direction makes it a practical choice when drilling into broken bolts or studs, where the reverse rotation may back out the fastener during drilling. The regular spiral flute provides adequate chip evacuation in these short-depth applications. It is appropriate for use in benchtop drill presses, hand drills set to reverse, and CNC equipment configured for left-hand tooling. No coolant-through capability is present, so external cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling harder steel grades.
Designed as a general-purpose left-hand jobber drill bit for use in steel and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with any standard drill chuck accepting a 1/16 inch straight shank.
Left-hand drill bits require the drilling equipment to be set to reverse rotation before use. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent movement. Apply cutting fluid or cutting oil externally when drilling harder steel grades, as this bit has no coolant-through capability. Follow applicable shop safety practices and wear appropriate eye protection when operating rotary cutting tools.
