The VALUE COLLECTION 01167766 is a No. 76 wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. It carries a 118-degree standard point angle and a right-hand, regular spiral flute geometry. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.0200 inches in diameter, matching the drill bit cutting diameter exactly. Overall length is 0.8750 inches (7/8 inches) with a flute length of 0.1875 inches (3/16 inches). The web is thinned with a tapered configuration, reducing thrust and improving chip evacuation in small-diameter drilling. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision sheet-metal workers are the primary installers and users of this drill bit.
This drill bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials. Its small wire-gauge diameter makes it well-suited for precision pilot holes, instrument holes, and fine detail work in light manufacturing, electronics assembly, HVAC sheet-metal fabrication, and plumbing fixture work where tight tolerances are required. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for use with cutting fluid when drilling non-ferrous metals at low to moderate spindle speeds.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machines accepting straight-shank bits with a 0.0200-inch shank diameter.
Install into a collet or drill chuck appropriate for the 0.0200-inch straight shank, ensuring the chuck jaws are fully seated and tightened before operation. Power down and de-energize any drill press or CNC machine before changing tooling. Use cutting fluid when drilling non-ferrous metals to extend bit life and maintain hole quality. Handle small-diameter bits with care — lateral force during entry or extraction can cause breakage.
