The VALUE COLLECTION 01167600 is a No. 60 wire-gauge jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. The bit features a standard 118-degree split point and a tapered, web-thinned web configuration that reduces thrust and helps center the bit on entry. At 1.625 inches overall length with an 0.6875-inch flute, this is a compact, lightweight bit weighing 0.006 pounds, well suited for precision drilling in tight spaces. The straight cylindrical shank and regular right-hand spiral flute are compatible with standard drill chucks. Typical installers include HVAC technicians, electricians, plumbers, and machinists working with small-diameter fastener holes.
This bit is sized at 0.0400 inches (No. 60 wire gauge) and is rated for general-purpose use with aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The two-flute regular spiral design clears chips efficiently in softer metals, plastics, and similar materials. It is appropriate for bench drill presses, hand drills, and precision drill fixtures where a small-diameter hole is required. The uncoated HSS construction makes it easy to resharpen in the field. Sold individually, it is available in multiples of 12.
Designed for general-purpose drilling in aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The straight shank fits standard drill chucks accepting shanks of 0.0400 inches in diameter. Appropriate for use in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC drill fixtures configured for small wire-gauge bits.
Secure the shank firmly in the drill chuck before use and confirm the bit runs true with no visible wobble. When drilling aluminum or non-ferrous metals, use a cutting fluid or light oil to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Apply steady, moderate feed pressure — excessive force on small-diameter bits increases the risk of breakage. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and resharpen or replace the bit when point geometry shows visible wear.
