The VALUE COLLECTION 01167212 is a No. 21 wire-size jobber-length drill bit manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. It cuts a 0.1590-inch diameter hole and features a standard 118-degree point angle suited for general-purpose drilling applications. The bit measures 3.25 inches overall, with a 2.125-inch flute length and a straight cylindrical shank of 0.1590 inches in diameter. A two-flute, regular spiral design provides efficient chip evacuation, and the web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces the thrust required to start a hole. Licensed tradespeople and general machinists install this bit in handheld drills and drill presses alike.
This jobber drill bit is rated for use on aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials, making it well-suited for HVAC sheet metal, electrical panel fabrication, plumbing rough-in work, and light manufacturing tasks where a standard wire-gauge hole diameter is specified. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with all standard drill chucks. Coolant-through capability is not supported, so dry cutting or light cutting fluid applied externally is the appropriate approach for this bit.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on handheld drills, drill presses, and similar equipment when drilling aluminum and non-ferrous materials to a 0.1590-inch diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists, electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and other trade professionals using standard drill equipment. Secure the straight shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify the workpiece is clamped or otherwise stabilized. Apply a light cutting fluid when drilling aluminum to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use; a dull or chipped bit should be resharpened or replaced rather than forced through material.
