The VALUE COLLECTION 01167188 is a No. 18 wire-size jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel (HSS) with a standard 118-degree split point and bright uncoated finish. It measures 3.25 inches overall with a 2.125-inch flute length and a straight cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1695 inches. The two-flute regular spiral geometry with tapered web and web-thinning promotes chip evacuation and reduces walking on entry. This bit is suited for general-purpose drilling in production, maintenance, and repair environments and is installed by machinists, millwrights, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians drilling through sheet metal, angle iron, and similar workpieces.
This bit is sized to the No. 18 wire-gauge standard at 0.1695 inches decimal diameter and is intended for use in aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and other general-purpose materials. Its jobber length — 3.25 inches overall with a 2.125-inch flute — fits standard keyed and keyless chucks on benchtop drill presses and handheld corded or cordless drills. The bright uncoated finish provides good lubricity on aluminum and soft non-ferrous alloys without added tooling cost. Sold individually; minimum order applies.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard 3-jaw keyed or keyless drill chucks accepting a 0.1695-inch straight shank; fits benchtop drill presses, magnetic base drills, and handheld power drills across trade and light industrial use.
Drill bit installation and use should follow standard machine-shop and trade safety practices: secure the workpiece before drilling, ensure the chuck is fully tightened on the straight shank, and wear appropriate eye protection. When drilling aluminum or non-ferrous metals, apply a cutting fluid or lubricant to extend bit life and improve hole finish. Power down the drill and allow the bit to stop fully before removing it from the chuck or workpiece. Inspect the point for wear or chipping before each use.
