The UTILITY MANUFACTURING 30-1031 is a high-temperature, non-asbestos, air-drying furnace cement rated to 3000 degrees F. It is formulated as a do-all retort cement used for setting and sealing furnaces, stoves, boilers, and chimney collars. The cement air-sets and heat-cures to create a durable, airtight seal that will not shrink, pull away, crack, sag, or lose its sealing properties over time. It comes ready to use directly from the pail with no mixing required and trowels easily for clean application. After full curing, the material is non-water soluble. It finishes to a light steel grey color and leaves no stains on hands.
This cement is suited for residential and commercial heating applications where high-temperature sealing is required. Common uses include bedding and cementing firebrick, sealing specially shaped combustion chambers, topping the backfill of oil burner chambers, and sealing flue pipes. It is equally effective in new installations and repair work on furnaces, boilers, and chimney assemblies. The non-freezing formulation is unaffected by repeated freeze-thaw cycles, making it reliable for job sites and storage in cold environments. It is packaged in a 1/2 gallon pail and is sold 6 pails per case.
Designed for use with furnaces, stoves, boilers, chimney collars, firebrick, combustion chambers, oil burner chambers, and flue pipes in residential and commercial heating systems.
Application is typically performed by HVAC technicians, heating contractors, or qualified service professionals working on combustion appliances. Shut down and allow the heating system to cool completely before applying cement to any surface. Apply with a trowel or similar hand tool, allow the material to air-set before firing, and follow full heat-cure procedures per the equipment manufacturer and NFPA 211 guidelines. Avoid disturbing the cement before it has fully cured.
