The UTILITY ENTERPRISES 22-111 is a dark thread cutting oil formulated for cutting and threading operations on ferrous pipe and fittings. Supplied in a 1-quart can, it carries a kinematic viscosity of 42.5 square millimeters per second at 40 degrees C, placing it in the medium-weight range suited for manual and machine threading work. Licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors use this type of cutting oil to lubricate dies, reduce heat buildup, and extend die life during threaded pipe fabrication. The dark sulfurized formula provides the extreme-pressure protection that ferrous pipe threading demands.
This thread cutting oil is appropriate for residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical piping work wherever threaded pipe connections are fabricated or field-modified. It is commonly applied with a brush or pour spout directly to the die head during manual ratchet threading or power threading machine operations. It is well suited to iron, steel, and galvanized pipe threading applications encountered in plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical system installation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement lubricant for standard pipe threading applications using manual or power-driven threading equipment on ferrous pipe and fittings.
Applied by a licensed plumber or pipefitter during pipe threading operations. Apply oil generously to the die head and pipe before and during threading to ensure proper lubrication throughout the cut. Keep the container sealed when not in use to prevent contamination and evaporation. Dispose of used cutting oil in accordance with local environmental regulations.
