Product Description

The USG 540795 is a dry-mix spray texture material formulated with polystyrene aggregate and a fine perlite-aggregated background to produce a bold, rugged popcorn surface texture. It mixes with water only — no extended soaking or prolonged mixing required — making it practical for fast spray application. The finished surface dries to a crisp bright white and is typically left unpainted on noncontact surfaces, though it can be overpainted if needed. Each 40-pound bag covers up to 8 square feet per pound of dry mix when applied with appropriate spray equipment. Drywall finishers and painting contractors are the primary trades who apply this material.

This texture material is suited for residential and light commercial interior ceiling applications where a simulated acoustical popcorn finish is desired without acoustical correction properties. It bonds to new or old concrete, gypsum panels, and plaster substrates. It levels minor surface irregularities and masks surface defects. This product is not recommended for high-humidity environments such as kitchens or bathrooms, and the unpainted surface is nonwashable.
