The US MOTORS WDS12S2ACR is a three-phase, energy-efficient AC motor designed for industrial and commercial HVAC and mechanical drive applications. Rated at 1/2 horsepower with a nameplate speed of 1755 RPM, it operates on 208 to 230/460 volts at 60 Hz. The totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) enclosure protects the motor from dust, moisture, and contaminants common in mechanical rooms and equipment yards. Built on a 56C frame with a C-Face mount, it is suited for direct-coupled loads such as pumps, fans, and compressors. Licensed HVAC technicians and millwrights are the typical installers.
This motor fits standard 56C frame applications in light commercial and industrial settings where a three-phase supply is available. The reversible rotation makes it adaptable to multiple drive configurations without sourcing an alternate unit. Full load amperage draws 1.8 to 1.9 amps on 208 to 230 volts and 1 amp on 460 volts, keeping wire sizing and overcurrent protection straightforward on both common three-phase distribution voltages. The Class F insulation rating supports higher winding temperatures, extending service life in warm mechanical spaces.
Designed as a direct replacement for 56C frame, C-Face mount, 1/2 HP three-phase TEFC motors. Also referenced as Dayton part number 3NE77 for cross-reference sourcing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC-R technician in accordance with NEC Article 430 for motor branch circuits and overcurrent protection. Disconnect and lock out all power before removing the existing motor or making any wiring connections. Verify supply voltage matches the motor nameplate before connecting leads, and confirm the correct winding configuration for 230-volt or 460-volt service. Do not run the motor without confirming proper coupling alignment and adequate airflow around the TEFC enclosure.
