The US MOTORS tp-e50-mhp2 is a multi-speed fractional evaporator motor designed for refrigeration and HVAC evaporator coil applications. Rated at 1/2 HP with a 1075 RPM top speed, this motor operates on 208-230 volts single phase and draws 3.6 amps. It features three selectable speeds — 800, 950, and 1075 RPM — making it a versatile fit across a range of airflow requirements. The 48-frame construction uses a dynamic self-aligning bearing for reliable long-term operation in demanding environments. A 10 MFD, 370-volt run capacitor is included. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics are the typical installers for this type of motor.
This motor is built for use in evaporator fan assemblies found in walk-in coolers, reach-in refrigerated cases, and commercial HVAC air handlers. The side shell mount configuration comes pre-drilled to accept Rheem mount wings and is compatible with resilient mount rings, supporting a wide range of retrofit and replacement installations. The reversible rotation direction adds flexibility when matching existing fan blade configurations. The 5-inch keyed shaft with a 1/2-inch diameter is sized for standard evaporator fan hub attachments used across many commercial refrigeration and light commercial HVAC setups.
Pre-drilled to accept Rheem mount wings and compatible with standard resilient mount rings. Designed as a universal OEM-style replacement for 48-frame multi-speed fractional evaporator motors used in commercial refrigeration and light commercial HVAC systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or certified refrigeration mechanic. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the unit before removing the existing motor or wiring the replacement. Verify rotation direction against the existing fan blade pitch before energizing. Confirm capacitor rating matches the motor nameplate before connecting the included run capacitor.
