The US MOTORS tp-e50-mhp1 is a permanent split capacitor (PSC) direct-drive blower motor built for residential and light-commercial HVAC air-handling applications. Rated at 1,075 RPM with a multi-horsepower range of 1/6 to 1/2 HP, this single-phase, 115-volt motor draws 7.3 amps and operates on 60 Hz power. It features a 48Y NEMA frame, self-aligning bearings, and a reversible rotation direction, giving technicians flexibility during replacement. The motor is 100% functionally tested during manufacturing and again after final assembly, covering input power, Hi-Pot, and continuity verification before it leaves the line. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as a direct-drive replacement in forced-air furnace and air-handler blower assemblies.
This motor is suited for residential forced-air systems where a fixed fractional, direct-drive blower motor is required. The open air-over (OPAO) enclosure is appropriate for inside-the-cabinet installations where airflow passes over the motor for cooling. The 48Y frame and 1/2-inch keyed shaft allow it to fit a broad range of blower wheel hubs. Three operating speeds are available at 800, 950, and 1,075 RPM, supporting multi-speed blower configurations common in single-stage and two-stage gas furnaces and air handlers. The side shell is pre-drilled to accept both standard mount wings and resilient mount wings.
Designed as an OEM-style direct-drive replacement for residential and light-commercial forced-air furnace and air-handler blower assemblies using a 48Y frame PSC motor at 115 volts.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the air-handling unit before removing the existing motor or capacitor. Verify the replacement run capacitor rating matches the required 10 MFD at 370 or 440 volts before energizing the circuit. Confirm blower wheel set-screw engagement on the keyed shaft and ensure the selected mount style is properly secured before restoring power.
