The UPONOR WIRLF90STLSWT12 is a lead-free ProPEX elbow fitting designed to transition between a 1/2 inch PEX tubing connection and a 1/2 inch sweat (solder) copper connection. The ProPEX end expands to receive PEX tubing using the Uponor ProPEX expansion method, while the sweat end connects to standard copper fittings using conventional soldering technique. This fitting is compliant with lead-free standards, making it suitable for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial plumbing applications where PEX and copper systems meet at a 90-degree transition point.
This elbow fitting is used in residential and light commercial potable water distribution systems. It is a practical solution for connecting PEX tubing runs to existing copper stub-outs, valves, or fixtures that require a sweat connection. The 90-degree configuration allows for directional changes in tight spaces, such as near wall penetrations, valve bodies, or fixture supply connections. Installation requires the Uponor ProPEX expansion tool for the PEX side and a torch and solder for the copper sweat side.
Designed for use with Uponor ProPEX 1/2 inch PEX-a tubing systems transitioning to 1/2 inch copper sweat connections in potable water plumbing applications.
Installation of the ProPEX end requires an Uponor-approved ProPEX expansion tool and the appropriate expansion ring. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The sweat end must be soldered using lead-free solder per local plumbing code requirements, including IPC and applicable state amendments. Allow the soldered joint to cool completely before restoring water pressure and testing for leaks.
