The UPONOR q4775075 is an all-plastic cold expansion coupling designed for use with F1960 PEX piping systems. This reducer coupling connects 3/4-inch PEX pipe to 1/2-inch PEX pipe using the cold expansion method, which expands the pipe end before insertion to create a secure, leak-resistant joint as the fitting returns to its original size. The fitting is constructed entirely of plastic, making it suitable for potable water distribution, radiant heating, and hydronic applications where metal fittings are undesirable. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working with PEX-a systems are the primary installers of this component.
This coupling is used in residential and light commercial PEX plumbing installations where a transition from 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch supply lines is required. Typical applications include branch takeoffs from main distribution runs, stub-outs to fixtures, and any point in a system where pipe size reduction is needed within an F1960 cold expansion PEX network. The fitting works within the standard F1960 expansion ring and fitting system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard component for F1960 cold expansion PEX plumbing systems using 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch pipe.
Installation requires a proper F1960 PEX expansion tool sized for both the 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch pipe ends. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting into any existing line. Expansion rings must be fully seated on the pipe end before expanding and inserting the fitting. Work should comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards governing PEX installations.
