The UPONOR Q4751517 is a reducing tee fitting designed for ProPEX expansion-style PEX piping systems. It connects a 1-1/2 inch run to a 1 inch branch and a 3/4 inch outlet, allowing contractors to step down pipe sizes at a single fitting junction. The body is molded from modified polyphenylsulfone (MPPSU), a high-performance thermoplastic that resists elevated temperatures and chlorinated water. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this fitting during rough-in on domestic water distribution systems where flow must be split and reduced across multiple zones or fixtures.
This reducing tee is suited for residential and light commercial potable water distribution using ProPEX-compatible PEX-a tubing. It is installed with a ProPEX expansion tool and the corresponding PEX expansion rings, creating a cold-expansion joint that tightens as the fitting returns to its original diameter. Typical applications include main-to-branch transitions in multi-zone manifold runs, domestic hot and cold water trunk lines, and hydronic systems where the manufacturer approves MPPSU fittings.
Designed as an OEM-style ProPEX fitting for use with PEX-a expansion tubing and compatible ProPEX expansion rings in residential and commercial potable water and approved hydronic piping systems.
Installation requires a calibrated ProPEX expansion tool and the correct-size PEX expansion rings for each port. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into an existing system. Follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for potable water piping. Allow adequate time for the cold-expanded fitting joint to recover before pressurizing the system.
