The UPONOR Q4751350 is a reducing tee fitting designed for use in ProPEX expansion-style PEX piping systems. It connects a 1-1/4 inch main run to a 1/2 inch branch outlet, allowing flow to be split or directed to a smaller line within a hydronic, potable water, or plumbing distribution system. The body is molded from modified polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), a high-performance thermoplastic known for its resistance to high temperatures, chlorine, and mechanical stress. Licensed plumbers and PEX installers working on residential or light commercial projects are the primary installers of this fitting.
This reducing tee is suited for in-wall, in-slab, or mechanical room plumbing applications where a branch takeoff at a reduced diameter is required. It is intended for use with the Uponor ProPEX expansion method, which uses a ProPEX expansion tool to expand the pipe and fitting sleeve before insertion, creating a tight, reliable joint as the memory of the PEX pipe returns to its original diameter. Typical applications include domestic hot and cold water distribution, radiant heating supply and return manifold branches, and multi-zone plumbing rough-in work.
Designed for use with the Uponor ProPEX expansion system and compatible 1-1/4 inch and 1/2 inch PEX tubing and ProPEX expansion rings.
Installation requires a calibrated ProPEX expansion tool and appropriately sized ProPEX expansion rings for each pipe diameter. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting into an existing system. The ProPEX method is governed by applicable plumbing codes including IPC and UPC provisions for PEX systems — verify local code acceptance before installation. This fitting should be installed by a licensed plumber familiar with expansion-style PEX methods.
