The UPONOR Q4351000 is a 1-inch nominal ProPEX end-style plug used to cap off PEX tubing runs in plumbing and radiant heating systems. Made from polysulfone, this plug is designed to withstand the pressure and temperature demands typical of hydronic and domestic water applications. ProPEX connection requires an expansion tool to seat the fitting ring before the plug is inserted, creating a reliable mechanical seal. Plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during rough-in, system testing, or when capping an unused branch line.
This plug is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using UPONOR ProPEX expansion fittings. It is used to terminate 1-inch PEX tubing runs where a branch is not yet in service, during pressure testing of completed sections, or as a permanent cap on a dead-end branch. Domestic-rated construction means it is appropriate for potable water systems where NSF compliance and material safety are required.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1-inch ProPEX expansion-style PEX plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the water system before servicing any fittings or capping open lines. Use a calibrated ProPEX expansion tool sized for 1-inch fittings to expand the PEX ring and tubing before seating the plug. Verify full ring contraction and a leak-free seal before restoring system pressure.
