The UPONOR PEXPLUG12 is a 1/2-inch nominal round-head PEX plug designed for ProPEX end connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. Manufactured from Udel glass-reinforced polysulfone, it delivers a pressure rating of 150 PSI at 210 degrees F and a temperature rating up to 320 degrees F. These performance characteristics make it a reliable termination fitting for hot and cold potable water lines, hydronic radiant systems, and fire safety piping. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this plug to cap off or pressure-test PEX-A tubing runs without compromising system integrity.
This plug is suited for a broad range of system types including hot and cold domestic potable water systems, PEX-A plumbing systems, hydronic radiant heating and cooling systems, snow melting systems, turf conditioning systems, permafrost prevention systems, and AquaSAFE fire safety systems. Its compact overall length of 0.85 inches and width across flat of 0.87 inches allow installation in tight spaces typical of residential and light commercial rough-in work. It meets a comprehensive list of North American standards for both Canadian and US applications.
Designed for use with 1/2-inch ProPEX connections in PEX-A plumbing systems. Approved for hot and cold domestic potable water, hydronic radiant heating and cooling, snow melting, turf conditioning, permafrost prevention, and AquaSAFE fire safety system applications per the certifications listed in the Technical Specifications below.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber using a ProPEX expansion tool sized for 1/2-inch fittings. Depressurize and isolate the affected section of the system before inserting the plug. Verify the PEX-A pipe end is cleanly cut and free of debris before expanding and seating the fitting. Confirm all connections meet local code requirements referencing IPC, IRC, or the applicable Canadian standard before restoring system pressure.
