The UPONOR LFR4815050 is a ProPEX residential ball valve designed for use in PEX piping systems. The valve features a full-port brass body with a 1/2 inch nominal size and PEX end-style connections on both ends. Full-port design maintains maximum flow by keeping the valve bore equal to the pipe inside diameter, reducing pressure drop across the valve. Licensed plumbers install this valve during new construction or remodel work where PEX distribution systems are specified. The lead-free brass construction meets domestic-use requirements for potable water applications.
This valve is suited for residential plumbing distribution systems using PEX tubing. Typical applications include hot and cold water supply lines, manifold branch connections, and isolation points in residential hydronic or domestic water systems. The ProPEX end style is engineered for use with the Uponor ProPEX expansion tool and ring system, making connections fast and reliable during rough-in. This is a domestically produced valve intended for use in residential installations where lead-free fittings are required by code.
Designed as an OEM-style isolation valve for residential PEX plumbing systems using ProPEX expansion connections at 1/2 inch nominal pipe size.
Installation requires a licensed plumber and the appropriate ProPEX expansion tool sized for 1/2 inch connections. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before beginning any valve installation or replacement. Follow local plumbing codes and IPC requirements for isolation valve placement and support spacing. Do not over-torque the valve handle or use pipe wrenches directly on the valve body.
