The UPONOR LF4513850 is a lead-free brass adapter fitting designed to transition between 3/8-inch PEX tubing and 1/2-inch copper pipe using a PEX-to-sweat (C) connection. This fitting is domestically manufactured and built for use in potable water systems where lead-free compliance is required. The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and long service life in both hot and cold water applications. Plumbers and pipefitters use this adapter when connecting PEX distribution lines to existing copper supply runs or copper-terminated fixtures, making it a common component in residential remodel and new construction plumbing work.
This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where PEX tubing meets copper pipe at a transition point. Typical applications include under-sink supply connections, branch line transitions, and fixture tie-ins where the supply side is copper and the distribution side is PEX. The sweat end accepts standard 1/2-inch copper solder fittings, while the PEX end is sized for 3/8-inch PEX expansion or crimp installation depending on the compatible Uponor system used.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 3/8-inch PEX tubing systems connecting to 1/2-inch copper pipe in residential and light commercial plumbing applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The copper sweat end requires standard soldering tools and flux rated for potable water use. Ensure the PEX end is installed using the appropriate Uponor-compatible expansion or crimp method for the tubing size.
