The UPONOR LF4511515 is a 1-1/2 inch lead free brass adapter designed to transition between PEX tubing and copper pipe in plumbing systems. The fitting connects PEX on one end using an expansion or crimp-style connection and sweat-solders to standard copper on the other end. Constructed from domestic lead free brass, it meets federal and state lead content requirements for potable water systems. Licensed plumbers install this fitting during new construction, remodel work, or system retrofits where PEX distribution lines terminate at copper branches, risers, or fixtures.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial potable water distribution systems. It is suited for hot and cold supply lines where a PEX-to-copper transition is required at manifolds, branch points, or equipment connections. The domestic brass construction makes it appropriate for projects requiring NSF-compliant, lead free components in drinking water applications.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 1-1/2 inch PEX tubing systems connecting to standard 1-1/2 inch copper pipe in residential and commercial potable water distribution.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC or applicable state equivalent. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or joining any fittings. The copper sweat end requires standard soldering tools and lead free solder; follow all torch safety practices and ensure the fitting interior is dry before soldering. Confirm local code acceptance of PEX fitting type before installation.
