The UPONOR LF4505050 is a 1/2-inch lead-free brass adapter designed to transition between PEX tubing and copper pipe using a sweat (C) connection. This fitting is manufactured domestically and meets lead-free compliance standards required for potable water applications. The PEX end accepts a standard expansion-style connection, while the copper end is sized for standard 1/2-inch sweat fittings. Plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter in residential and light commercial water distribution systems where PEX and copper piping must be joined at a transition point.
This adapter is suited for new construction and retrofit plumbing projects where PEX supply lines connect to existing copper distribution systems. Typical applications include under-sink transitions, manifold connections, and branch-line tie-ins in residential potable water systems. The lead-free brass construction makes it appropriate for use in drinking water and hot and cold supply lines where code compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 1/2-inch PEX tubing systems connecting to 1/2-inch copper pipe in residential and light commercial potable water distribution.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The copper sweat end requires standard soldering tools and flux; the PEX end requires the appropriate expansion tool sized for 1/2-inch PEX. All potable water installations must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC standards.
