The UPONOR LF2865050 is a stub 90-degree elbow fitting designed to transition between PEX tubing and copper pipe in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. Constructed from lead-free brass and copper, this fitting provides a reliable directional change at a right angle while connecting a PEX expansion end to a sweat copper connection. The 1/2-inch size is the most common diameter used in supply-line rough-in work. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and remodel projects where PEX distribution lines meet copper stub-outs at fixture locations.
This fitting is suited for hot and cold potable water supply systems where a 90-degree turn is required at the termination point of a PEX run. The PEX Brass x C (copper sweat) configuration allows a direct connection from an Uponor PEX-A expansion system to an existing or new copper stub-out. It is commonly used at wall stub-out locations serving sinks, lavatories, toilets, and similar fixtures in both residential construction and light commercial plumbing applications.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for use with 1/2-inch PEX-A expansion plumbing systems transitioning to copper sweat connections at stub-out locations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The PEX end requires an Uponor-compatible PEX-A expansion tool and the appropriate expansion ring; the copper sweat end requires standard soldering equipment and lead-free solder. Do not overtighten or apply heat to the brass body when making the sweat connection.
