The UPONOR F4931000 is a 1-inch nominal AquaPEX straight tubing section manufactured using the Engel (peroxide) process, which produces a PEX-a classification crosslinked polyethylene pipe. With an inside diameter of 0.862 inches and an outside diameter of 1.125 inches, this 20-foot straight stick is designed for hot and cold potable water distribution, hydronic heating, and radiant floor systems in both residential and light commercial construction. The white and blue color coding aids in quick identification during rough-in. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers, though radiant heating contractors also work with this product regularly.
AquaPEX PEX-a tubing is suited for residential potable water supply lines, hydronic heating distribution, and radiant panel installations. The straight 20-foot length simplifies handling in open-wall and under-slab applications where coiled tubing would require straightening. The 1-inch nominal size handles main distribution runs feeding multiple branch circuits or zones. This tubing is compatible with Uponor ProPEX expansion-style fittings, which require an expansion tool and PEX rings for connection. It is not intended for use with crimp or clamp-style PEX fitting systems.
Designed for use with Uponor ProPEX expansion fitting systems. Compatible with standard 1-inch PEX-a expansion rings and ProPEX fittings. Not compatible with PEX-b or PEX-c crimp or clamp fitting systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and applicable sections of the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before making any connections. ProPEX expansion fittings require a calibrated expansion tool matched to the tubing size — do not attempt to use crimp rings or clamp rings with this PEX-a tubing. Maintain minimum bend radius requirements to avoid kinking, and protect tubing from prolonged UV exposure during and after installation.
