The UPONOR F4340500 is a 100-foot coil of AquaPEX crosslinked polyethylene tubing manufactured using the Engel process, also known as PEX-a. This method produces a uniformly crosslinked molecular structure that gives the tubing superior flexibility, kink resistance, and thermal memory compared to PEX-b or PEX-c alternatives. The nominal size is 1/2 inch, with an inside diameter of 0.475 inches and an outside diameter of 0.625 inches. It is color-coded white with blue printing for easy identification during installation. Licensed plumbers and radiant heating contractors install this tubing in both potable water and hydronic applications.
This tubing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems, in-floor radiant heating, and hydronic distribution. Its flexibility makes it well-suited for home-run manifold systems and tight-radius routing through framing. The 100-foot coil length is a common format for radiant loop runs and branch plumbing rough-in. Domestic manufacturing supports compliance requirements on projects with U.S.-content specifications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation tubing for 1/2 inch PEX-a fittings and expansion-style connection systems compatible with UPONOR AquaPEX product lines.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and ASTM F876/F877 standards for PEX tubing. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before making connections. PEX-a tubing requires an expansion tool and compatible expansion fittings — do not use crimp or clamp fittings designed for PEX-b or PEX-c without verifying compatibility. Avoid prolonged UV exposure during storage and installation, as PEX tubing is not rated for outdoor above-ground service.
