The UPONOR f3041000 is a 1-inch PEX-a cross-linked polyethylene tubing supplied in a 100-foot coil, color-coded blue for cold water identification. Rated to 200 degrees F at 80 psi and 160 psi at 73.4 degrees F, this non-oxygen-barrier tubing is engineered for potable hot and cold water distribution systems. With an outside diameter of 1.125 inches and an inside diameter of 0.862 inches, it is manufactured and listed to ASTM F876 and F877 and certified to NSF Standards 14 and 61. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this tubing in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This tubing is used primarily in hot and cold potable water distribution systems and in hydronic heating applications where the system contains no ferrous corrodible components or where any ferrous components are isolated from the tubing. It is not suitable for open hydronic systems with ferrous components unless proper isolation is in place. Compatible fitting systems include clamp, crimp, PEX press, push-fit, PEX compression, and expansion PEX connection methods, giving installers flexibility in fitting selection based on local code and tool availability.
Listed and approved under IPC, UPC, IMC, UMC, NSPC, NPC of Canada, and NBC of Canada. Certified by IAPMO, NSF, CSA, ITS, HUD, and ICC. Carries fire-rated assembly listings including G573 two-hour Hambro floor/ceiling, K913 two-hour concrete floor/ceiling, L557 one-hour wood frame floor/ceiling, U372 one-hour wood frame wall, and V444 one-hour steel stud wall assemblies. Not rated for open hydronic systems with unprotected ferrous components.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the IPC, UPC, or applicable local plumbing code. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting or connecting tubing. Use only tools and fittings specified for the chosen connection method, as mixing incompatible fitting systems is not permitted. Because this tubing has no oxygen diffusion barrier, it must not be connected directly to boilers or ferrous system components without proper isolation in hydronic applications.
