The UPONOR 21105A is a 1/2-inch CTS (Copper Tube Size) red PEX-A tubing supplied in a 100-foot roll. PEX-A is manufactured using the Engel method, which produces the highest degree of cross-linking among PEX types, giving the tubing superior flexibility and the ability to expand for fitting connections. The red color coding indicates hot-side service, making it easy to distinguish supply lines during rough-in. Licensed plumbers and hydronic installers use this tubing for potable water distribution, radiant heating systems, and in-wall domestic water piping.
This tubing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic applications. The 1/2-inch CTS size is the most common diameter used in branch runs from manifolds to fixtures in PEX distribution systems. Its flexibility allows it to navigate framing cavities with minimal fittings, reducing potential leak points. Typical installations include hot water branch lines from a manifold, under-slab radiant loops, and baseboard heating connections.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation tubing for residential and light commercial PEX-A plumbing and hydronic systems using 1/2-inch CTS expansion or crimp fittings.
Installation of PEX-A tubing should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local amendments. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system before cutting into any existing lines. Use the appropriate PEX expansion tool or crimp tool rated for the fitting system being used. Avoid routing tubing in areas with direct UV exposure, as PEX is not rated for outdoor sunlight exposure.
