The UGL 28613 is a ceramic-fortified masonry waterproofing paint engineered for demanding moisture and hydrostatic pressure conditions. It stops water penetration up to 12 psi, equivalent to a 26-foot column of water, and has been tested to ASTM D-7088 for resistance to hydrostatic pressure and ASTM D-6904 for resistance to wind-driven rain. The formula includes a nonhazardous green biocide in the paint film to resist mildew growth. Coverage runs 75 to 100 square feet per gallon. Applied by painting contractors, waterproofing specialists, and experienced DIYers working on masonry substrates, it cleans up with soap and water. A fully transferable 15-year warranty backs the product.
The 28613 is formulated for use on interior and exterior masonry surfaces, both above and below grade. Typical applications include basement walls, retaining walls, foundations, landscape walls, cinder blocks, concrete blocks, bare concrete swimming pools, stucco, and brick. Its suitability for below-grade and wet-area surfaces makes it a go-to for waterproofing projects where hydrostatic pressure is a primary concern. The paint is tintable with up to 50 percent of the color formula, not to exceed 2 fluid ounces of colorant per gallon.
Suitable for interior and exterior masonry surfaces including basement walls, retaining walls, foundations, landscape walls, cinder blocks, concrete blocks, bare concrete swimming pools, stucco, and brick, both above and below grade.
Surface preparation is critical — masonry must be clean, structurally sound, and free of efflorescence, oil, grease, and loose material before application. Power down any electrical circuits in the work area and ensure adequate ventilation when applying in enclosed below-grade spaces. Apply with a masonry brush, roller, or airless sprayer per the manufacturer application guidance. Consult local building codes when waterproofing below-grade or pool surfaces, as additional membrane or drainage requirements may apply.
