The UBIQUITI usw-pro-max-48-poe is a managed Layer 3 network switch designed for business-grade installations requiring high-density Power over Ethernet and multi-gigabit connectivity. It delivers 48 total data ports split between 2.5 GbE and Gigabit Ethernet speeds, with a total PoE power budget of 720 watts. Sixteen ports operate at 2.5 GbE, including eight 60W PoE++ ports and eight 30W PoE ports. The remaining 32 ports are Gigabit Ethernet, with eight rated at 60W PoE++ and 24 at 30W PoE. Four SFP+ ports support 10 Gb/s fiber or DAC uplinks. Network engineers and IT professionals install this switch as a distribution or access-layer device in structured cabling environments.
This switch fits business and enterprise network deployments where advanced IP cameras, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E access points, VoIP endpoints, and other high-draw PoE devices need reliable, managed connectivity. It operates within the Ubiquiti UniFi ecosystem, making it a natural fit for sites already running UniFi controllers, security gateways, or other UniFi infrastructure. The switch supports Layer 3 routing functions, VLAN segmentation, and network monitoring through the UniFi Network application. Typical deployment scenarios include office buildings, retail locations, schools, and multi-tenant commercial spaces requiring centralized network management.
Designed for use within the Ubiquiti UniFi product ecosystem. Compatible with PoE, PoE+, and PoE++ compliant devices including IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP equipment that conform to IEEE 802.3bt, 802.3at, and 802.3af standards.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network engineer or licensed low-voltage technician familiar with structured cabling and managed switch configuration. Power down connected devices before servicing ports or moving cables. Rack-mount the switch in a ventilated enclosure and verify that the available circuit can support the full 720W PoE power budget plus switch overhead. Configure VLANs, routing, and port profiles through the UniFi Network controller before bringing the switch into production.
