The UBIQUITI usw-flex-2.5g-8-poe is a flexible, managed PoE switch built for high-density wireless and wired deployments that demand multi-gigabit throughput at the edge. It delivers eight 2.5 GbE PoE++ output ports alongside a single 10 GbE combination port that accepts either an RJ45 or SFP+ uplink connection. That uplink port also serves as the power input, accepting PoE+++ from an upstream switch. Total PoE availability scales with the power source: 57 watts with PoE+++ input, 37 watts with PoE++ input, 12 watts with PoE+ input, or up to 196 watts when an optional AC power adapter is used. Licensed contractors and network technicians install this switch in commercial and industrial environments where standard gigabit switching is no longer sufficient.
This switch is suited for deployments using high-performance Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E access points, IP cameras, VoIP endpoints, and other multi-gigabit PoE-powered devices. Its compact, flexible form factor makes it a practical edge switch for wiring closets, wall-mount installations, and similar confined spaces. The 10 GbE uplink ensures the aggregation link does not bottleneck the combined 2.5 GbE downstream traffic. Because power can be sourced directly from the uplink port, cabling runs can be simplified in locations where a separate AC outlet is not readily available.
Designed for use in UniFi-managed network environments; uplink port accepts PoE+++ input from compatible upstream switches or an AC power adapter sold separately.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network technician familiar with structured cabling and PoE power budgeting. Verify the upstream switch or injector supports PoE+++ (802.3bt) before connecting to the uplink input port. Power down connected devices before servicing the switch or changing the power source. When using an optional AC power adapter, follow the manufacturer wiring and mounting guidelines and ensure the installation location meets applicable electrical codes.
