The UBIQUITI uacc-retrofit-poe-2wire is a two-piece PoE extender kit designed to deliver Power over Ethernet through existing twisted-pair or coaxial cable runs. The kit includes a transmitter and a receiver, allowing technicians to reuse legacy wiring infrastructure instead of pulling new Ethernet cable. The transmitter accepts a PoE++ input and converts the signal to a 2-wire output. The receiver accepts that 2-wire input and outputs standard PoE or PoE+ to the connected device. Each unit ships with a 2-wire to coaxial adapter, making the kit compatible with both twisted-pair and coaxial installations.
This extender kit is intended for retrofit and upgrade scenarios in residential and light commercial environments where pulling new structured cabling is impractical or cost-prohibitive. Typical applications include repurposing existing telephone wire or coaxial runs to power and connect IP cameras, access points, or other PoE-compatible network devices. Network technicians and low-voltage installers are the primary trades that deploy this equipment during system upgrades or new device installations on legacy wiring infrastructure.
Designed for use with PoE++ source equipment on the transmitter side and PoE or PoE+ compatible end devices on the receiver side, over existing twisted-pair or coaxial cable infrastructure.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage technician or network installer familiar with PoE infrastructure and applicable codes. Verify that the source switch or injector provides PoE++ output before connecting the transmitter. Power down the source equipment before making or breaking any connections at the transmitter or receiver. Do not exceed the cable distance or power budget specifications listed in the manufacturer installation guide.
