The UBIQUITI UACC-OM-SFP10-1270 is a CWDM SFP+ optical transceiver module rated for 10Gb/s data transmission over single-mode fiber at distances up to 20km. The module uses an LC duplex connector interface and operates at a 1270nm CWDM wavelength, placing it in the lower end of the CWDM wavelength grid. It is designed for use in SFP+ slots on compatible switches, routers, and network appliances. Network engineers and low-voltage data cabling technicians typically install this module when extending fiber links between buildings or across campus-scale infrastructure where reach beyond standard short-range optics is required.
This transceiver is suited for enterprise, campus, and service-provider environments where 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity must span distances that multimode fiber cannot support. The 20km reach makes it appropriate for inter-building backbone runs and metropolitan-area point-to-point links. Installation is tool-free at the module level, with the LC fiber patch cord connecting to the plant fiber. Single-mode fiber plant and properly cleaned LC connectors are required for reliable link establishment.
Designed as an OEM-style SFP+ optical transceiver for use in standard 10G SFP+ ports on compatible switches and routing platforms that support CWDM optics.
Installation is performed by low-voltage or network technicians familiar with fiber optic systems. Power down or administratively disable the port before inserting or removing the module to protect the laser diode and connected equipment where switch firmware does not support hot-swap sequencing. Clean LC fiber end-faces with an appropriate fiber inspection and cleaning tool before mating connectors, as contamination is the leading cause of optical link failure. Follow local structured cabling standards and any applicable NEC low-voltage wiring requirements for the enclosure or pathway infrastructure.
