The UBIQUITI POE-15-12W is a passive Power over Ethernet injector designed to deliver both data and DC power over a single Ethernet cable to compatible network devices. Rated at 15 volts and 12 watts, it eliminates the need for a separate power supply at the device end, simplifying installation in locations where AC outlets are not readily available. The unit is sized for single-device deployments and is handled as a single piece per unit of measure. Network technicians and low-voltage installers use this injector to power access points, IP cameras, and similar PoE-compatible equipment in both residential and light commercial environments.
This injector is well suited for installations where a managed PoE switch is not present or not practical. Typical use cases include mounting wireless access points at ceiling or wall locations, powering outdoor IP cameras on a dedicated run, and supporting small network deployments where individual injectors are preferred over a centralized switch. The 15-volt passive output targets equipment that requires a non-standard voltage outside the 802.3af/at range, so confirming device compatibility before installation is important.
Designed as an OEM-style passive PoE injector for network devices that accept 15-volt passive Power over Ethernet input. Confirm target device voltage requirements before installation, as passive PoE injectors do not negotiate voltage automatically.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage technician or licensed electrician familiar with structured cabling and PoE systems. Power down or unplug the injector before connecting or disconnecting Ethernet cables at the device end. Passive PoE injectors do not perform IEEE 802.3af/at handshaking, so the connected device must be rated specifically for the 15-volt passive input to avoid equipment damage. Follow applicable NEC low-voltage wiring guidelines for cable routing and termination.
