The TWECO 1540-1136 is a heavy-duty brass gas diffuser designed for use with slip-on nozzle assemblies on MIG welding guns rated up to 450 amps. Machined from 360 brass alloy bar stock, it measures 1.955 inches in overall length and features a 9/16 inch-18 UNC-2A thread size with six 0.094 inch gas ports for consistent shielding gas distribution. A metal flat spring mounted to the outer diameter allows nozzle assemblies to slide on and lock in place during the weld cycle. A silicone O-ring seals against the nozzle assembly to prevent gas leakage. Licensed HVAC and welding professionals working with medium to heavy-duty MIG applications will find the dimensional stability and consistent electrical properties essential for repeatable results. Sold in packs of five.
This diffuser is suited for medium to heavy-duty standard MIG welding applications up to 450 amps. It is designed specifically for use with slip-on style nozzle assemblies and is compatible with the 450 A Tweco Spray Master MIG gun series as well as Tweco eliminator front-end consumable systems. The 16RS and 16S series designation covers a range of heavy-duty welding environments where stable arc characteristics and reliable gas coverage are critical. Typical install scenarios include fabrication shops, structural welding, and heavy manufacturing lines where high-amperage MIG guns see sustained duty cycles.
Compatible with slip-on nozzle assemblies used on the 450 A Tweco Spray Master MIG gun series and Tweco eliminator front-end consumable systems. Fits the 16RS and 16S series heavy-duty MIG gun configuration.
Installation and replacement of MIG gun consumables should be performed by a qualified welding technician with the gun fully de-energized and the wire feeder disabled before handling. Thread the diffuser into the conductor tube by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then snug with appropriate pliers — do not over-torque brass fittings. Inspect the silicone O-ring for damage before reinstalling the nozzle assembly to maintain a proper gas seal.
