The TWECO 1260-1631 is a self-insulated slip-on copper welding nozzle engineered for standard gas diffuser assemblies in heavy-duty MIG welding applications. Rated up to 450 amps, the nozzle features a 5/8-inch (0.625-inch) bore and measures 3.383 inches in length with a 0.97-inch outer diameter. Construction uses a three-piece design: a nozzle housing cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, a nozzle insert machined from solid brass and crimped in place, and a nozzle insulator constructed from G7 silicone material. No additional insulator is required. The part number is roll-stamped on the exterior surface for easy identification in the field. Sold in a pack of 2.
This nozzle is suited for heavy-duty MIG welding environments where sustained high-amperage output and reliable gas shielding are required. The recessed contact tip relationship of 0.125 to 0.156 inches makes it appropriate for higher heat applications, longer electrical stick-out scenarios, and situations where the nozzle may contact the workpiece — such as tack, spot, and stitch welding. The slip-on mounting design allows the nozzle to slide over the metal spring integrated into the gas diffuser, simplifying swap-outs during production welding cycles. The silicone insulator provides the electrical isolation needed between the nozzle housing and the gas diffuser body.
Designed as a slip-on replacement nozzle for standard gas diffuser assemblies compatible with TWECO EL24I series MIG guns rated up to 450 amps.
Installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified welding equipment technician or trained welder. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source before servicing front-end consumables. Allow the nozzle to cool fully before handling to avoid burns. Slide the nozzle over the gas diffuser spring until fully seated — do not force or overtighten, as the slip-on design relies on the spring-retention fit of the diffuser assembly.
