The TWECO 1260-1608 is a self-insulated slip-on copper MIG welding nozzle designed for medium to heavy duty welding applications rated up to 450 amps. Built with a 3-piece construction, it consists of a nozzle housing cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, a nozzle insert machined from solid brass and crimped in place, and a nozzle insulator constructed from G7 silicone material. The silicone insulator provides the electrical isolation required between the nozzle and gas diffuser without the need for a separate insulator component. The bore measures 5/8 inch with a 3.25 inch length and 0.875 inch OD. This nozzle is installed by professional welders and MIG welding technicians in fabrication, structural, and industrial settings.
The 1260-1608 is suited for medium to heavy duty MIG welding operations requiring reliable gas coverage and electrical insulation at elevated amperages up to 450A. Its recessed contact tip relationship of 0.125 to 0.156 inches makes it appropriate for higher heat applications where longer electrical stick-out is needed, as well as tack, spot, and stitch welding where the nozzle may contact the workpiece. The slip-on design fits over the metal spring of a standard gas diffuser, making installation and replacement straightforward on compatible MIG torch setups. Sold as a 2-piece pack.
Designed as an OEM-style slip-on replacement nozzle compatible with standard gas diffuser configurations in medium to heavy duty MIG welding torches.
Installation is performed by qualified welding technicians or MIG torch service personnel. Ensure the welding machine is powered down and the torch is fully de-energized before replacing nozzle components. The slip-on design requires sliding the nozzle over the metal spring on the gas diffuser — no threading is needed. Inspect the gas diffuser and contact tip for wear before reinstalling to avoid premature nozzle failure.
