The TWECO 1260-1606 is a self-insulated slip-on copper nozzle designed for use with standard EL-series gas diffusers in MIG welding applications. The nozzle features a 3/8-inch (0.375-inch) bore, a 3.25-inch length, and a 0.875-inch outer diameter. It handles currents up to 450 amps, making it suitable for medium to heavy duty welding work. Construction follows a 3-piece design: a nozzle housing cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, a nozzle insert machined from solid brass and crimped in place, and a nozzle insulator constructed from G7 silicone material. The silicone insulator provides the electrical isolation required between the nozzle and gas diffuser without a separate insulator component. Sold in a pack of 2.
This nozzle is intended for medium to heavy duty MIG welding environments where current levels can reach 450 amps. It fits standard EL-series gas diffusers and is well-suited for fabrication shops, structural welding, and pipe welding operations. The recessed contact tip relationship of 0.125 to 0.156 inches makes it appropriate for higher-heat applications requiring longer electrical stick-out, as well as tack, spot, and stitch welding where the nozzle may contact the workpiece. Licensed welding technicians and skilled trade welders are the primary installers and users of this consumable.
Designed to fit standard EL-series gas diffusers, including the standard EL gas diffuser thread configuration. Compatible with medium to heavy duty MIG welding torch setups operating up to 450 amps.
Installation is performed by qualified welders or welding equipment technicians. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source before replacing any front-end consumables. Slide the nozzle over the metal spring on the gas diffuser until fully seated — do not force or over-tighten. Inspect the silicone insulator for wear or cracking at each consumable change to maintain proper electrical isolation.
