The TWECO 1240-1880 is a heavy-duty MIG welding nozzle designed for use with Tweco Velocity-series MIG guns. It features a 5/8 inch bore and is built around a reduced-thread design that minimizes the risk of thread seizing and cross-threading. Most conventional MIG consumables use two or three sets of threads; this nozzle uses one. The mating thread pairing combines brass on the nozzle with hardened stainless steel on the gooseneck, so the softer brass threads grip firmly without loosening under heat and vibration. At 0.31 pounds, the nozzle is a direct-replacement consumable installed by welders and MIG equipment technicians in production and field environments.
This nozzle fits Tweco Velocity-series MIG gun assemblies and is suited for heavy-duty applications where consistent nozzle-to-contact-tip flushness and fast, tool-free consumable changes are priorities. It is sold individually and is appropriate for shops running continuous MIG processes where downtime for consumable changeover must be minimized. The 5/8 inch bore accommodates standard wire diameters used in structural, fabrication, and general-purpose MIG welding.
Designed for use with Tweco Velocity-series MIG gun assemblies as a direct-replacement nozzle consumable.
MIG nozzle replacement is performed by welders and MIG equipment technicians. Before changing nozzles, power down the welder and allow the gun to cool to a safe handling temperature. Thread the nozzle onto the gooseneck by hand until snug; no tools are required and over-tightening can damage the brass threads. Inspect the contact tip and liner condition at each nozzle change interval.
