The TWECO 1240-1422 is a coarse threaded copper welding nozzle designed for use with a standard gas diffuser on MIG welding guns rated up to 450 amps. Machined from solid 145 tellurium copper alloy bar stock, the nozzle delivers consistent dimensional stability and efficient heat dissipation during continuous or high-duty-cycle welding. It has a 5/8 inch (0.625 inch) bore, an outer diameter of 1.07 inches, and a length of 1.53 inches. The flush contact tip relationship provides a 0.062 inch offset, making this nozzle well suited for applications where a shorter electrical stick-out and tighter arc lengths are required. The part number is roll-stamped on the outer surface for fast field identification. Sold in a 2-piece pack.
This nozzle is intended for medium to heavy duty MIG welding applications requiring amperage up to 450 A. The two-piece design separates the nozzle housing from the nozzle insulator: the insulator threads onto the conductor tube and provides electrical isolation, while the housing threads onto the insulator. This configuration is common in production welding environments and fabrication shops where front-end consumables are changed frequently. A licensed or experienced welder or welding technician typically handles consumable replacement on industrial MIG guns.
Designed for use with a standard gas diffuser on TWECO-style MIG welding guns. Nozzle housing and nozzle insulator are sold separately and must be compatible with the coarse thread two-piece nozzle system.
Replacement of MIG gun nozzles should be performed by a qualified welder or welding technician with the welding machine powered down and the gun cooled before handling front-end consumables. The nozzle housing threads onto the nozzle insulator — do not overtighten, as damage to the insulator threads can cause arcing or inconsistent shielding gas flow. Inspect the conductor tube and nozzle insulator for wear or damage before installing new consumables. Follow the gun manufacturer's service guidelines and applicable AWS or facility safety standards.
