The TWECO 1240-1131 is a short stop copper MIG welding nozzle designed for use with Tweco No. 4 MIG guns rated up to 450 amps. The nozzle housing is cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, providing reliable thermal conductivity and durability in medium to heavy duty welding applications. It features a 5/8 inch bore and is built for use with the standard Tweco nozzle insulator. The part number is rolled and stamped on the outer surface for fast identification in the field. The nozzle-to-contact-tip relationship is adjustable, allowing the operator to set recessed, flush, or protruding tip configurations depending on the joint and application.
This nozzle is suited for medium to heavy duty MIG welding environments where sustained amperage demands and heat exposure are common. It is compatible with Tweco No. 4 MIG guns up to 450 amps and slides over the standard Tweco nozzle insulator. A 1/8 inch tip recess is noted for this configuration. Recessed tip setups are typically used in higher heat applications or where the nozzle may contact the workpiece, such as tack, spot, and stitch welding. Flush and protruding configurations are also achievable depending on contact tip selection and joint access requirements.
Designed for use with Tweco No. 4 MIG guns up to 450 amps and the standard Tweco nozzle insulator Part No. 34A (Stock No. 1340-1100).
Installation is typically performed by a qualified welding technician or maintenance professional. Always power down and de-energize the MIG gun before removing or installing nozzle components. Ensure the nozzle insulator is properly seated before threading on the nozzle to avoid arcing or damage to front-end parts. Select the appropriate contact tip stick-out configuration (recessed, flush, or protruding) based on joint geometry and welding procedure requirements before commencing work.
