The TWECO 1230-1303 is a tapered, flush MIG welding nozzle designed for use with Tweco No. 3 MIG guns rated up to 450 amps. The nozzle measures 3.219 inches in length with a 3/8-inch bore and a 3/4-inch OD. It features a 3-piece construction: a nozzle housing cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, a nozzle insert machined from solid brass, and a nozzle insulator constructed from G7 silicone material. The 9/16-inch-18 UNC-2B thread size allows the nozzle to string directly into the conductor tube assembly. Sold in a 2-pack. This nozzle is installed by welding technicians in heavy-duty MIG welding applications.
The 1230-1303 fits heavy-duty welding environments where sustained high-amperage output up to 450A is required. The nozzle insulator provides electrical isolation from the gas diffuser, eliminating the need for a separate external insulator. The nozzle insert is machined with internal threads to match conductor tube OD threads, making it a direct string-in replacement for Tweco No. 3 gun assemblies. The recess contact tip relationship is 0.125 to 0.156 inches, consistent with standard flush nozzle configurations used in structural and fabrication welding.
Designed for use with Tweco No. 3 MIG guns rated up to 450 amps. Nozzle strings into the conductor tube assembly of compatible Tweco No. 3 gun configurations.
Installation is performed by a qualified welding technician. Ensure the MIG gun is fully de-energized and cooled before removing or installing the nozzle. String the nozzle directly onto the conductor tube assembly by hand until seated, then verify thread engagement before resuming operation. Inspect the G7 silicone insulator for damage during each nozzle change to maintain proper electrical isolation from the gas diffuser.
