The TWECO 1230-1122 is a 23 Series self-insulated MIG welding nozzle designed for use with standard gas diffusers in heavy-duty welding applications. It threads directly into the conductor tube assembly and is rated for up to 450 amps. The nozzle measures 3.11 inches in length with a 5/8-inch (0.625-inch) bore and a 0.875-inch outer diameter. It features a flush contact tip relationship of 0.062 inches, making it well suited for applications where a shorter electrical stick-out is used. The housing is cut and formed from 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, the insert is machined from solid brass, and the insulator is constructed from G7 silicone material. The part number is rolled and stamped on the outer surface for quick field identification.
This nozzle is used in heavy-duty MIG welding environments where reliable electrical insulation and consistent gas coverage are required. The flush tip configuration is typically selected when a shorter electrical stick-out is preferred, resulting in shorter arc lengths that bring the contact tip closer to the work piece. The 3-piece design eliminates the need for a separate external insulator. A 9/16-inch-18 UNC-2B thread connects the nozzle to the conductor tube. This part is sold in a pack of 2 and is suited for professional welders and fabrication shops running high-amperage wire-feed processes.
Designed for use with standard gas diffusers in TWECO 23 Series conductor tube assemblies using a 9/16-inch-18 UNC-2B thread connection.
Installation is performed by licensed welding technicians or qualified fabricators. Always power down and de-energize the welding system before replacing front-end consumables. Thread the nozzle onto the conductor tube assembly by hand until snug, taking care not to cross-thread the UNC connection. Inspect the nozzle insulator and insert for wear at regular intervals to prevent arcing damage and unplanned downtime.
