The TWECO 1230-1013 is a Weldskill 23 Series MIG welding nozzle built for medium to heavy duty welding applications rated up to 450 amps. The nozzle features a 3/4 inch bore, an outer diameter of 0.875 inches, and an overall length of 3.219 inches. It uses a 9/16 inch-18 UNC-2B thread and a recess contact tip relationship of 0.125 to 0.156 inches. The 3-piece construction includes a copper alloy nozzle housing, a solid brass nozzle insert with machined internal threads, and a silicone nozzle insulator. Sold in a 2-pack, this nozzle is installed and replaced by welding technicians and MIG gun service personnel maintaining semi-automatic welding equipment.
The 1230-1013 is suited for standard gas diffuser setups in shop and field environments where medium to heavy duty GMAW processes are common. The nozzle threads directly onto the conductor tube assembly, making field replacement straightforward. The silicone insulator provides the electrical isolation required between the nozzle and gas diffuser, eliminating the need for a separate insulator component. The part number is rolled and stamped on the outer surface for fast identification during maintenance and restocking.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement nozzle for TWECO 23 Series MIG welding guns equipped with a standard gas diffuser and compatible conductor tube assembly.
Installation is performed by a qualified welding technician or MIG gun service professional. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source before replacing any gun consumables. Thread the nozzle onto the conductor tube by hand until snug, taking care not to cross-thread the UNC-2B threads. Inspect the silicone insulator and brass insert for wear at each nozzle change interval to maintain proper shielding gas coverage and arc quality.
