The TWECO 1160-1755 is an aluminum MIG contact tip designed for the Velocity2a consumable system. It feeds welding wire at 3/64 inch and transfers welding current to the wire at the point of arc initiation. The tip is engineered with a single set of threads rather than the two or three thread sets common in standard MIG consumables. Mating threads combine brass and stainless steel to reduce seizing and cross-threading. The result is a contact tip that installs without tools and maintains a consistent, reliable electrical contact throughout the weld cycle. Licensed welders and MIG technicians are the primary installers of this consumable.
This contact tip is suited for MIG welding applications where consumable changeover speed and thread reliability are priorities. The Velocity2a system it belongs to offers Fixed Threaded, Adjustable Slip, and Spot Weld nozzle configurations, making this tip compatible with a range of joint access and tack welding scenarios. It is sold individually and is appropriate for light-duty to production welding environments where 3/64 inch wire diameter is specified.
Designed for use with the TWECO Velocity2a MIG gun consumable system. Verify wire diameter and thread pattern against your existing Velocity2a nozzle and diffuser before installation.
Contact tips are installed and replaced by qualified welders or MIG welding technicians. Before changing the tip, disconnect or power down the welding system and allow the gun and nozzle to cool to a safe handling temperature. Do not overtighten; the brass thread design is intended to seat without excessive torque. Inspect the bore for spatter buildup and replace the tip when the bore is elongated or arc initiation becomes inconsistent.
